Why book with us
Peugeot Van Servicing & Repairs Walsall with clear advice.
We work on the full Peugeot van range at MF Autocentre in Walsall, from the little Bipper and the popular Partner to the mid-size Expert and the big Boxer. These vans are everywhere with plumbers, electricians and delivery drivers, and they need to keep running. Servicing, warning lights, clutches, brakes, suspension and steering are all routine work for us, and we keep you updated while the van is with us.
Peugeot vans have some well-known weak spots. The 1.6 HDi in older Partners can leak at the injector seals and is hard on its turbo if oil changes slip. Some use a separate additive fluid to help the particulate filter clean itself, which needs topping up over time. Newer BlueHDi vans use AdBlue, and faults in the tank, pump or sensors can stop the van restarting.
We start every job by looking properly. We read the fault codes, check the simple things and test the part we suspect before we replace anything. Then we ring you with a clear quote and explain what is urgent and what can wait. Nothing goes ahead without your say-so, and you can spread the cost of a bigger repair with Payment Assist.
Matt runs the workshop and has years of hands-on experience with clutches, timing belts, turbos and DPF work, the jobs these vans most often need. Van owners come to us from Walsall, Bloxwich, Pelsall and Wednesbury, and we are open on Saturday mornings as well as weekdays. We follow the Peugeot service schedule with the right oils and parts, so your warranty stays valid.
Partners, Bippers and most Experts are plated at 3,000kg or less, so we can MOT them in our own Class 4 bay. Nearly every Boxer is rated above 3,000kg and needs a Class 7 test, which we do not offer, but we still service and repair them and get them ready for the test. Common questions
- Can you MOT my Peugeot van?
- Partners, Bippers and most Experts are plated at 3,000kg or less, which is a Class 4 test we carry out in our own bay. Most Boxers are heavier and need a Class 7 MOT, which we cannot do. The weight is on the plate inside the door frame, or call us with your registration and we will check.
- What does the AdBlue warning mean on my Peugeot van?
- It means the van has found a fault with its AdBlue system. On BlueHDi vans the cause is often the tank unit, pump or a sensor rather than a lack of fluid. If a countdown appears, the van will not restart when it reaches zero, so book it in quickly and we will find which part has failed.
- What is the DPF additive on my Partner?
- Some Peugeot diesels carry a small tank of additive that mixes with the fuel and helps the particulate filter burn off soot. When it runs low you may get a warning and the filter starts to block. We check the level and refill it during servicing when it is due.
- Why is there black gunk around my injectors?
- That usually means a leaking injector seal on the 1.6 HDi. Exhaust gas escapes past the seal and bakes the oil into a black tar. You may also hear a chuffing noise or smell fumes in the cab. Sorting it early stops the injector seizing in place, which makes the job much bigger.
- Why did my turbo fail?
- On the 1.6 HDi a common cause is oil starvation, often from oil left in too long or a blocked oil feed. A new turbo can fail the same way if the cause is not fixed. When we replace one we check the oil supply and change the oil and filter so it lasts.
- Is my Peugeot van the same as a Citroën?
- Very often, yes. The Partner and Berlingo, Expert and Dispatch, and Boxer and Relay are built together and share engines and most parts. The current Expert is also the base for the Vauxhall Vivaro and Toyota Proace. So the faults and fixes are usually the same.
- How often should my Peugeot van be serviced?
- Most Peugeot vans need a service once a year or at a set mileage, whichever comes first. Vans working hard every day benefit from regular oil changes, which help protect the turbo and timing parts. Give us your registration and we will look up the right schedule.
- Will servicing with you affect my Peugeot warranty?
- No. Block exemption rules let an independent garage service your van without affecting the warranty, as long as the schedule is followed and parts and fluids meet the right specification. That is how we work on every van, and we update your service record each time.
